Summer Inspirations

Summer is an odd time for me and inspirations. Many days, i’m just not inspired… colors almost seem dull and faded in the hot sun. Other days, I’m almost over stimulated: too many things in the bright summer spotlight calling my attention, colors everywhere, focus everywhere (assuming you can call it focus ;)).

Days like to day, I find I focus on the contrasts and am fortunate enough to have a pick your own sunflower field near by. Most sunflowers bring a brightly colored, happy ring of petals, around a dark, almost black center. The orange and yellow flowers popping out in a complementary contrast to the almost violet-blue sky.
